As the Trade Development Associate, I support the the growth and development of the Port's container and bulk lines of business, as well as managing the cruise line of business. I also assist in the development and execution of the Port's marketing efforts, as well as assessing new business opportunities.- fostering growth and awareness of Port lines of business through marketing initiatives.- implementing and managing the Microsoft Dynamics CRM system for our department.- organizing and executing direct sales activities with shippers to increase cargo and passenger volumes.- drafting business cases to support the attraction of new terminals, facilities, or service providers.- supporting destination development, and community capacity building through the identification and implementation of initiatives by the Port.- analyze and assess cruise related opportunities for the Port, as well as support the creation of business cases for cruise related ventures.- manage the planning and development of the Shore Excursion Program and related cruise operations.

As the owner of JRS Yard Services I have been responsible for monitoring all facets of daily operations which included client cultivation and solicitation, sales and marketing, risk management, staff management and recruitment, cost and budget management, capital reinvestment, and contact negotiations.

- Developed and managed a weekly community Cruise Market. - Designed and implemented a program of Non-Shore-Excursion activities in collaboration with Norwegian Cruise Lines. - Introduced platforms for cruise passengers for which I prepared Social Media content. - Wrote and revised an extensive guide marketing Prince Rupert as a Cruise Port and Tourist Destination.

- Developed an in-depth Dashboard for the Port Authority to monitor all their different lines of business. - Researched all of the PRPAs competitors, and wrote a report on their competitive position which was used by the senior executive. - Rewrote and re-branded the PRPAs Business Plan and Strategic Plan. -- Developed a PowerPoint presentation of both Plans.- Prepared and performed numerous presentations to management, senior executives, business partners, and potential clients.

As Director of Corporate Relations, along with my colleagues, I successfully raised $250,000 in sponsorship and $175,00 in delegate fees, over a quarter million dollars. JDC West 2010 raised over $200,000 for charities across Western Canada.

- Night Auditing -- Answering the phone, taking reservations, checking guests in and out. -- Auditing the daily guest ledger of the hotel to verify and balance entries. -- Verify and balance the ledger entries of the lounge, restaurant, dining room, and catering as well. -- Create a daily deposit and ensure the correct starting cash amount at the front desk, lounge, restaurant, and dining room for morning. - Business Development-- Developed a stronger web presence through SEO, and website remodeling. -- Created new promotions by developing business relations within the community. -- Researched information on Gift Certificates vs. Gift Cards, and moved the hotel to a Gift Card practice.

As Vice President of Corporate Relations for the UNBC JDC West Team, my duties included everything from mentoring and leading 50 of UNBC's Commerce students, to raising $42,000.00 in Sponsorship throughout BC for our team in a four (4) month period.

- Researched all of the PRPAs competitors, and created profiles on them, including a SWOT analysis on each competing Port. - Assisted in the writing of the PRPA’s Business Plan and Strategic Plan. - Prepared numerous presentations for management, senior executives, business partners, and potential clients. - Designed Tear Sheets on each of the PRPAs facilities, which are used in day to day Corporate Communications, Public Relations, and Investor Relations. - Produced and provided a number of tours, showcasing Prince Rupert and Port Properties. -- Personally guided many individuals on these tours, including; provincial government representatives, federal government representatives, and Fortune 500 CEOs and Senior Executives
