Worked on three different start-up ideas: PeopleLove, Pugbee and Wrangle. Unfortunately none were successful as standalone companies, but we built some great technology and learned quite a bit along the way.

Responsible for 50+ software engineers and managers working on the Bronto Marketing platform.Taking inspiration from Spotify's squad framework, we split our engineering team into small functional teams that had complete ownership over their area. This helped us improve communication, effectiveness and accountability. Most importantly it gave our engineers a sense of ownership and empowerment.Helped set up new recruiting and hiring processes, including working with NC State's Senior Design Program, which was a fantastic resource for us finding and hiring new engineers.Was also part of due diligence and transition team throughout the NetSuite acquisition in 2015.

Led the transition of our software team and legacy codebase to a more scalable software development process and architecture.We used Java, Hadoop, HBase and Cassandra to build a new platform that would allow us to scale and build out new Bronto functionality.I was responsible for coding, mentoring, recruiting and hiring on the Platform team.

Wrote the first bits of Java code at Bronto by building the SOAP API

Pointomatic was an engagement analytics platform. We were unique at the time by allowing publishers to click through their site as they define actions they would like to track.Pointomatic was built on AWS (thank goodness) and used Hadoop + Hive to generate our analytics from log file data that was being collected.

I was part of a transition team to explore moving FeedBurner's stats over to Google's platform. We were tasked with talking to other teams within Google about moving our Java + MySQL app over to Google's proprietary stack.

FeedBurner was an RSS feed management platform that powered half a million publishers and podcasts from 2004-07.I joined FeedBurner through the Blogbeat acquisition to help build FeedBurner SiteStats. In my role, I helped develop site stats functionality on FeedBurner's stack of Java + MySQL.FeedBurner was acquired by Google in 2007.

Blogbeat was a blog analytics platform I created in 2004-05. It was a real-time web analytics service that was built specifically for bloggers.I developed Blogbeat in .NET/C# with a SQLServer backend. This was before the days of AWS -- I had to buy & rack my own Dell servers to provide the service.Blogbeat was used and featured by many prominent blogs at the time (including TechCrunch) and was acquired by FeedBurner in 2006 to power FeedBurner SiteStats.

I helped design and build the early versions of LobbyGuard's touch-screen kiosk software in .NET

My partner and I provided custom software development and consulting to build these crazy things called websites during the first dot com boom (and bust).

Helped build parts of HAHT's web page builder, and eventually web application builder.
