Founded and operate a small environmental consulting and sales firm that focuses on providing contract project management to larger environmental consulting firms and contract sales relationships to firms operating in the environmental space, including great companies such as SampleServe (www.sampleserve.com).

Worked for the world's largest TIC provider as an Account Executive for their Chicago area environmental laboratory operations. In addition to my regional role, I worked nationally on special sales initiatives related to SAR-CoV-2 testing on surfaces, in wastewater, and in air, with a focus on selling to airlines, universities, and municipalities. Further, I worked with our national marketing team on developing innovative ways to reach new prospects during the pandemic, and I played a role in the revamping of one of our client-facing technology platforms, utilizing feedback from my client base.

Joined a software startup working to bring improved project management efficiency and instant data visualization and reporting to environmental managers and consultants, where I am responsible for the creation, implementation, and execution of inside and outside sales activities.

Responsible for the management, mentorship, and strategic direction of a three-person sales team for the nation’s second largest environmental laboratory network in the State of Michigan market. Responsibilities include working closely with my team and laboratory operations to identify market trends, maintain a robust project pipeline and prospect list, forecast and report financial performance, and mitigate service issues in order to meet and exceed revenue goals required to hit our laboratory's budget and profit expectations.

Responsible for the business development and client service efforts of Pace Analytical in the Northern Illinois market; managing major accounts, as well as small-client accounts. Responsibilities include understanding the needs of clients and matching those needs with the benefits of Pace’s service offerings; developing and maintaining a client-visit travel plan that serves the purpose of maintaining and growing existing client accounts, as well as prospecting and developing new client accounts; developing a business plan that identifies and targets potential sources of revenue growth and lays out strategies for the realization of the identified revenue growth; constantly analyzing competitive threats and identifying improved service offerings to neutralize identified threats; developing a competitive and profitable pricing strategy and providing quotations based on this strategy; working with major clients on federal project proposals; conveying technical information regarding analytical methods and procedures; maintaining a working knowledge of various federal, state, and municipal contract mechanisms and regulations for environmental remediation and restoration; hosting promotional events and in-office client training sessions; attending and exhibiting at various professional organization meetings and trade shows; budgeting of expenses; and maintaining territory sales revenue requirements, while constantly working to grow revenue and market share. All of this is completed while coordinating the client project demands of approximately 100 clients, worth approximately $2 million in revenue, from a broad range of industries and various levels of government, with the nationwide services of 29 environmental laboratories, 25 services centers, and eight specialty analytical laboratories.

Responsible for the management and completion of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments on large commercial and industrial facilities, including high-rise office buildings, airport support facilities, and current and historical large industrial sites. Heightened my familiarity with Illinois environmental TACO regulations per Title 35 Illinois Administrative Code Part 742, and prepared Phase II Environmental Site Assessment scopes and proposals for clients.

Responsible for the oversight and completion of various environmental consulting projects for clients in the commercial real estate industry, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, underground storage tank (UST) removal oversight and leaking UST (LUST) incident closure, as well as contaminated site remediation and regulatory closure undertakings. Also worked on business development, selling services to new clients as a seller/doer, and as a field supervisor overseeing drilling crews and ensuring appropriate environmental sampling and remediation activities at various sites throughout the Chicago region.

Editor, section developer, and writer for the website, www.chicago.org. Worked with the site owners to come up with and implement new content sections and user features. Interviewed and hired original writers, whose work I would eventually edit and publish. Responsible for publishing news content from wire services, as well as for producing original news pieces about Chicago-related stories.
