As manager of QuesTek’s Modeling and Software Development team in the Technology group, Jeff oversees the development of materials models and their implementation into software to enable and enhance design efforts across the company. Jeff’s responsibilities also include managing new program development and interfacing extensively with government agencies and research institutions.

Jeff developed integrated computational materials engineering (ICME) and thermodynamic models at QuesTek Innovations, with a focus on the statistical underpinnings and applications of such models. He developed strength models for Ni superalloys, grain-boundary cohesion models for steels, and transport models for thermoelectric materials. Jeff also developed software tools aid and automate the materials design process.

• Applied data-mining techniques to high-throughput calculations to identify promising new alloys. • Developed pre- and post-processing tools in python for handling heterogeneous data sources. • Published 7 peer-reviewed papers with experimental collaborators (highest cited: 154 citations).
