As Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, Jeff had global responsibly for all areas of marketing, business development, and market strategy. While focused on building brand awareness and value, Jeff also looked at Desire2learn’s markets in a segmented fashion and built out integrated go-to-market strategies that included unique product value, strategic partnerships, competitive intelligence, real-time marketing and digital marketing. Jeff also worked closely with the product development organization to map out product direction based on new strategic market opportunities.

As Senior Vice President, Business Markets and Software Platform at Research in Motion Limited, Jeff was responsible for the growth of BlackBerry's revenue in business markets across the globe as well as the product marketing of all RIM's software, service, and platform offerings. In his role Jeff sets segment and vertical marketing strategies across the regions, as well as influencing the overall platform product direction and leading the product marketing strategies together with tactics to bring products to market through its multitude of carrier, IT VAR, and distribution channels. Jeff led a worldwide team of 200+ marketing and sales professionals with 4 executive (VP level) direct reports while managing $80M - $100M annual marketing budget for the $9B in revenue enterprise business.

The Alliances group at RIM was responsible for building an ecosystem of ISVs and Solution Providers that delivered value added applications and services on top of the BlackBerry Platform. Initially, reporting to the VP Enterprise Marketing, then promoted and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, Jeff led a 120 person global team responsible for Business Development, Marketing and Sales engineering and had grown the partnership base to over 4000 and contributing to over $250M in revenue by 2009.
