Subsidiary Start-up Stage (2007 – 2012): • Founding member of the Kapsch TrafficCom North America division and part of Executive Team• Responsible for all Systems Engineering activities for Kapsch TrafficCom North America. During this time, the subsidiary grew from a handful of employees to over a hundred. • Filled a multitude of functions including business forecasting of revenue and materials, opportunities analysis, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) technical evaluation, development of engineering strategies to enter the tolling market in North America and served as technical liaison between Kapsch in the US and Austria. • Led the design, development and validation of a software business model tool, which was used to evaluate business strategies during the start-up phase.Subsidiary Growth Stage (2012-2016): • Capture manager, project manager and solutions architect on over 120 Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects that resulted in over $120M in revenue.• Full proposal lifecycle management: Requirements shaping, requirements analysis, system design, strategic partnerships, subcontractor selection, risk assessment, gap analysis, bill of materials (BOM), pricing model, bid briefs to board, contract assessment, proposal writing, team reviews and debriefs with customer.• Led international team of pre-sales system architects for opportunities across North America. • Formed the strategic partnerships and led capture team that won the first US systems integration project worth $79M.• Business development and project manager for the first incident detection system (IDS) by Kapsch in the US• Capture team member and project management for sale of first ITS weigh-in-motion enforcement system for Kapsch in US• Subject matter expert, mentor and trainer in the transportation industry, company processes, tolling, back-office systems, intelligent transportation systems and commercial vehicle operations (CVO) systems.

Lead system architect for the Generic Visualization System and Naval Virtual Target Range, which involved the development of a 3D physics-based geospatial modeling and simulation analysis tool for physics based warfare simulations utilizing advanced rendering libraries and real-time pattern classification and image processing. Efforts included building augmented reality tools, interfaces and mapping tools for 3rd party simulations, such as to OneSAF, JSAF (Joint Semi Automated Forces), Google Earth and to a 6-DOF Long-Range Land Attack Projectile (LRLAP) hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulator. These tool sets were used for rapid prototyping and to build real-time simulations of synthetic theater of war engagements, specifically for the DDG-1000 next generation destroyer Advanced Gun System (AGS) and Future Combat Systems (FCS) Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon (NLOS-C). Served as technical expert and member of the technical review panel for the company’s Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VV&A) efforts. Led the VV&A efforts for the MK57 Vertical Launching System modeling and simulation program, as well as for the Enhanced Flight Simulation 6-DOF HWIL model, a gun launched missile model.

Development of highly scalable algorithms for simulations on a clustered supercomputer using MPI. As systems engineer, I worked on trade-off analysis and scenario development of Theater Ballistic Missile Defense Simulations (TBMDS), Extended Air Defense Simulations (EADSIM, OPNET, Bones Designer), virtual warfare simulations - for the US-Navy, Marines and Air Force, and NATO member countries. Modeling and simulation trade-off analysis for the on-board computing hardware architecture of the Joint Strike Fighter F-35 (JSF). Other projects included designing interfaces between simulation modules and NATO Air Sovereignty Operations Centers (ASOC), as well as Navy shipboard-network modeling for the AN/UYQ-70.
