Originally hired to cross train existing installers unfamiliar with computers during Shaw's original internet launch, back then they were part of the @home network.During the early years of the launch each computer needed a network card and browser software installed during the service calls. The installs were known to take several hours, as most computers during the initial launch were 486's. The installs were known to take several hours, as most computers during the initial launch were 486's. After several years of installing Shaw's internet service, Shaw combined the cable installers and computer installers into one department and I took on the responsibility of not only doing internet installations but the cable installations as well. When Shaw launched their phone service I was also part of the first group of employees to be trained for their new service. When Shaw released their phone service I was responsible for installing all three services, internet, cable and phone. Show less
