Fibreco is a privately owned bulk terminal operator on the North Shore of Burrard Inlet. It has served the western Canadian forest and renewable energy industries by moving wood chips and wood pellets to customers throughout the world for the last 40 years. Fibreco has recently upgraded the facility to diversify into agriculture products including grains, pulses and oilseeds.

Responsible for day to day operations of the terminal and stevedoring, including maintenance and capital projects. Company lead for negotiations with ILWU. Led terminal expansion for containers including the start up of a new intermodal facility and densification strategy for steel storage and efficient turnover. Operational lead for the 2007 sale to Macquarie Infrastructure (MIRA).

Responsible for day-to-day operations of the terminal including customer service. Optimized the handling and storage of containers, forest products, steel and general cargo. Ensured operations consistently met organizational metrics and customer needs. Led terminal modifications including new storage sheds, new ship to shore cranes, development and implementation of TOS.

Responsible for the allocation and dispatching of labour and assisted in the planning and coordination of terminal and stevedoring operations. Ensured that adequate labour was available and appropriately assigned to cover each shift. Provided strategic assistance and direction to the board, CEO and Executive Team. Aligned the industry and led the strategic implementation of a new drug and alcohol testing policy/program as well as the the bargaining strategy for the Longshore and Foremen collective agreements. Served as the Association spokesperson during the negotiations.

Council promotes system-wide, strategic advancement of transportation and goods movement in Western Canada. Members include senior private sector, government and labour leaders that collaborate to address issues impacting the efficient movement of goods including increasing capacity, sourcing sufficient capital, developing skilled labour and the adequacy of forecasting.
