Jef has accepted the challenge to bring the people aspects within the business unit of the Benelux to a next level. He has taken the opportunity to put in practice what he has been preaching about the Future of Work.In his role he is responsible for both the HR function and the local implementation of the line management according to the global practice model in Capgemini. He takes care of recruitment and the staffing function to ensure the right talent at the right time. Jef focuses on implementing an efficient and future proof HR function and people strategy, an increased employee and learning experience and the transition into the New Normal.

Benelux / France

Being identified early in his career as a high potential and a future leader, Jef had the opportunity to participate in multiple leadership development programs during different stages in his career. The joy of the personal impact of these programs and his desire to create a similar impact for others have been the main drivers for Jef to become a professional coach and leadership developer.Jef has certified himself as a Professional Co-Active coach with CTI and he is an Accredited Insights Discovery Practitioner. He designs and facilitates personal development and leadership programs for high potentials within Capgemini Belgium and internationally. He is also a facilitator at the Capgemini University for the Group Leadership Programs for Senior Consultants and Managing Consultants where he works with the top 5% of the worldwide talent in the Capgemini Group. In this role Jef actively collaborates with companies that are active in the space of coaching and leadership development.For Jef it is all about getting the best out of people and supporting them in making conscious choices and realizing what they truly want.

Global

Aligning his day to day work as a consultant with his people passion, Jef joined the People and Organization capability unit of Capgemini Invent - Capgemini’s global business line focusing on strategy, innovation and end-to-end digital transformation. He took up the role to drive the Future of Work offer globally across different countries. This offer helps organizations to understand, design and implement the right approach around the impact of the current digital revolution on their workforce, the organization and the HR function. The offer includes a solution around leadership, transitioning the workforce, implementing new ways of working via a digital culture and change management, designing the future organization as well as developing an intelligent HR.In this role Jef was responsible for driving the go-to-market, the alignment of internal stakeholders, the content and asset development, the marketing approach and the governance around this topic. In the Belgian market he brought and delivered the solution to our clients.

Belgium

After the sudden and unfortunate passing of his predecessor, Jef was asked to lead the People Unit again for a year. During this time, he focused on the stabilization of the unit, the alignment with Capgemini’s Global Practices model, the integration of the landed Indian colleagues in Belgium, the overall employee satisfaction and the growth of his successor.

Brussels, Belgium / Hyderabad, India

As Delivery Executive Jef has led the delivery of a team of 270 people with a very high offshore ratio. Together with his team of delivery and project managers he delivered fixed price output based projects in robotics, custom development, testing and application design services using waterfall and agile. He was the escalation point for delivery issues and managed the overall profitability and productivity. He was responsible for the overall client satisfaction, contribution margin, the realization of the contractual obligations and he contributed in the business development activities in the account.

Belgium

Jef has setup a new People Unit for the 150 consultants working in Financial Services. He turned it into a profitable and growing unit where year on year he was able to reduce the average cost per resource, reduce the attrition rate significantly below industry standards and strongly recruited new talent. Jef was responsible for the end to end management, staffing of consultants in client projects and he contributed to sales activities. He led the change in the HR area and created a new model for people management. Jef was part of the management committee of the Capgemini FS Benelux entity.

Netherlands & Belgium

Jef has set up the Young Professional Practice within Capgemini FS Benelux together with 2 Dutch colleagues to change the way Capgemini works with young talent. The approach focused on improved career development opportunities, people satisfaction and boosting sales. Next to a renewed vision on how a company works with generation Y, this strategy has resulted in a significant increase in talent retention, reduction of operational costs and an increased marketability of the consultants. Jef has closely managed a group of up to 90 people being responsible for their personal development, performance review and their staffing in client assignments

Chennai, India (5M) / Brussels, Belgium

At a relative young age, Jef grabbed his first opportunity as project manager for a fixed price software development project in a mainframe environment with a project team size of 12 people and went for about 5 months to Chennai, India. Given the limited experience with offshoring in his business unit at the time, this experience made him a role model in the project managers community and an ambassador for working with offshore. Building on this first experience Jef has managed and supported similar type of engagements mainly in a context where projects had delivery or people issues or where there was a need for change management.

Jef has started his professional career as a developer and has worked mainly on unix and mainframe platforms. With the aim of broadening his hands-on expertise he has grown in the domain of application design and taken responsibilities in functional and system integration testing. As a software engineer Jef has worked in most of the roles of the V model. He has certified himself as an ISTQB Software Tester, ISTQB Advanced Test Manager and IBM Solution Designer. Having 2 years of professional experience Jef had the opportunity to take the lead of a team of mainframe developers consisting of 4 different nationalities and an average age of 45+.
