The Chief Engineer is responsible for the planning, deployment and integrity of mission critical broadcast technologies in a 7-day-a-week 24 hours-a- day Television broadcast facility. I ensure that the technical facilities of KPRC-TV2 operate at the highest quality within required guidelines and within the established budget. I provide daily management of the Engineering, Operations, Information Technologies, Production and News Technical Directors. In keeping with FCC and related regulatory requirements, I oversee all broadcast engineering operations, including system design, installation and maintenance of both hardware and software for all broadcast studio and remote production, infrastructure, and RF transmission systems for KPRC TV2. I establish and maintain technical quality standards for the stations and forecast, prepare and maintains department operational and capital budgets. I provide the strategic and tactical vision to study, implement and test new production, workflow and broadcast delivery technologies. I develope plans to support the growth of the station's capabilities in accordance with corporate plans and market requirements; and provides technical guidance to executive management regarding the needs for capital and operating expenditures in order to achieve the goals of the station.
