After residency I spent 14 years working in a group practice HMO, in many positions in addition to being a primary care internist. I eventually worked as VP Medical Affairs for the associated insurance company, Health Services Medical Corporation, with over 100 medical providers, 100,000 covered lives and a budget to go with it.In 1993 I left the HMO and its group practice to start my own private practice. I happily worked there for 20 years. In 2013 I joined Family Care Medical Group in Syracuse and I was a PCP in Brighton Medical Associates for several years until my retirement from that practice in June 2019.I have been active with the local and state medical societies, including a year as President of the Onondaga County Medical Society and 6 years as a Councilor at MSSNY, representing 10 counties in central NY. I am currently a councilor with NY ACP.I am a founding board member of HealtheConnections, formerly Health Advancement Collaborative of CNY, a stakeholder venture to improve health care quality and reduce cost for our region. We have created a RHIO for the area and continue to work on other projects. For several years I have been employed by HealtheConnections as Medical Director.I am a Clinical Professor of Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University and have had privileges at all 3 private hospitals in Syracuse, though my practice is now confined to a nursing home, Menorah Park, in Syracuse. Having worked at several area nursing homes, I consider geriatrics to be one of my strengths.
