John works independently with business leadership teams specializing in individualized CEO/President/Owner coaching, team leadership development/insights, and business processes. John also assists owners and their teams with merger and acquisition planning/execution.

Serving in the role of EVP Western Region, John facilitated the initial integration of Swingle Lawn, Tree & Landscape Care into the SavATree business. The integration was multi-faceted, including merging two legacy Colorado Front Range Businesses, Mountain High Tree & Lawn Care and Swingle Lawn, Tree & Landscape Care and their combined 5 locations into the SavATree business model. This role included both the integration activities and the business operations of the Western Region of SavATree.

John spent much of his career running the operations teams for lawn and plant health care services prior to leading the strategic direction of the business. Leading the ERP software selection, acquisitions and geographic expansion, while influencing sales and administrative services, John was promoted to the President of Swingle in October of 2008. As President, his focus was on designing and executing the strategy to support Swingle's vision of delivering exceptional services through outstanding employees to residential and commercial customers. John played an integral role in the sale of Swingle to SavATree in the fall of 2017.A strong supporter of industry associations, John is past president of both state and national green industry trade associations. He was a leader in the green industry's preparation and response to Colorado's severe drought in 2002. John’s overall industry leadership has been recognized by many awards and honors, most recently having been awarded the Lifetime Leadership Award for the National Association of Landscape Professionals and named as one of the "Top 20 Most Influential Leaders in the Green Industry" by Green Industry Media.

John served as the Vice-President for the Professional Lawn Care Association of America (PLCAA) before becoming the President of the National Association of Landscape Professional (Professional Landcare Network -PLANET) in 2006. John was recognized in 2008 as a PLANET Trailblazer.
