Pinnacle is all about getting clinical trials submitted faster and with fewer issues. I've helped get out several versions of the Community and Enterprise products to our customers and users. I enjoy learning how the clinical trial process works and how I can use my skills to save people time and effort to avoid mistakes.

Anexinet is a cool, medium-sized consulting company. While working there, I worked for lots of big-name companies, helping them take their products and services to the next level. Primarily, I worked with .NET technologies, mostly ASP.NET MVC and Entity Framework. I've helped estimate and design systems, create mocks, chug out code and anything else that needed to be done. It was also a great place to share my expertise, tools and ideas.

I worked on writing services for sending out emails for our customers. Another rewrite had already been implemented, but it was lacking a satisfactory front-end and had performance issues. One of my tasks was to evaluate the current rewrite and break it up into smaller, more scalable services.

Imagine having to collect data for hundreds of businesses, including their Google Analytics, Facebook and Twitter stats, their email campaign stats and even their phone calls... then bring it all together to generate a score comparing how those metrics changed over time and how they compared to similar businesses. Then make it easy to setup and share your scores. When you're all done, make it something that works just as well for the tiny small business as it does for the largest of multinational corporations. That's what I was working on - a system called Brandskore.

I took a legacy system, probably close to 40 years in the making, and upgraded it to .NET. Throughout the 4-year process, I managed to fix decade old bugs, explain long-misunderstood business rules and brought it all under a single roof: C#. I replaced a five hour calculation with code that ran under a half hour. I replaced nearly a hundred C++/MFC forms with WinForms/WPF using Telerik. I eliminated the need for administrative access to the underlying machine. I optimized page-long Oracle SQL queries. I introduced first a three-tiered architecture, then an n-tiered architecture. I replaced command line applications with .NET remoting services that supported transactions. I made error diagnostics so precise, they could identify the exact database record causing runtime problems. I replaced 10,000 line C functions with well-defined, cohesive classes. I completely redesigned the UI to save users time and brain cells. It was decided this system would be used by the other regions within the company. I was also the regional Crystal Report guru and I maintained all of the smaller home-grown business applications.
