As part of the research, knowledge exchange and evaluation team, I informed the development of policies, programs and governance structures through the qualitative analysis of community feedback and engagement. Part of this work, included the development of draft indicators for measuring ‘wellness’ by utilizing what was heard from communities using FNHA’s perspective on wellness as an analytical lens.

Short-term maternity leave contract

I worked on contract for the BC Healthy Connections Project by assisting with the training of new scientific field interviewers and study team members while taking a personal leave.

My primary responsibility was coordinating and overseeing seven scientific field interviewers working in diverse health authorities across BC to ensure that data collection, participant recruitment and retention was being carried out according to study protocols and with the highest ethical and scientific rigour. As part of the senior Study Team, I implemented protocol updates, developed operating procedures, and designed training tools and team communication and management strategies to assist with the continual growth of this dynamic research project and team. I researched social programs, community health services and education programs to inform study related decisions. I trained new hires and supported and provided ongoing training and skills development to existing staff.

I worked with a small team of SFU faculty and MPH graduate students to evaluate the early uptake and success of the HCP program in different Fraser Health communities. The final evaluation results were shared via a report to Fraser Health and the HCP communities and through presentations.

I provided environmental consulting services to resource development companies. Skills offered included permitting, baseline study and environmental impact assessment coordination and management support, water quality and aquatic sciences, and logistics management. I was contracted by MMG Limited to assist with the permit applications and field coordination for the proposed Izok Corridor Project in Nunavut.

Designed and conducted a descriptive evaluation study to evaluate available sexual health resources and use of the Options for Sexual Health (Opt) Clinic by youth in Squamish.

I reviewed and wrote chapters of environmental impact assessments for proposed wind energy projects.

I supported the management of project progress, coordination of resources and timescales. I maintained a thorough understanding of project developments, policy and regulatory requirements. I engaged with client, regulators and aboriginal groups to assess project risk. I compiled, reviewed and edited budgets and work plans

I worked as the discipline lead for the baseline aquatic biology and water quality programs for major proposed mining development projects. I designed and conducted field experiments to test potential methods of mitigating mine tailings. I wrote work plans, budgets, terms of reference and reports. I co-coordinated and wrote multidisciplinary reports and work plans.
