In the AAC 2018-19 season, I was the starting right winger at Point Skyhawks. With leadership responsibilities within the team, I leveraged my experience to create a winning mentality for the team. That year, I was a key part of a team that against all odds would eventually become champion. After a very difficult 2017-18 season, it was clear that the team needed to restructure to attain a positive outcome the next season. This was accomplished through several changes, specially in two areas:*First, the team needed to remove members whose mindset did not align with the team’s objectives, and bring players who could adapt and add value to the team.*Second, we had to create a strong/winning culture that would influence new and former players both on and off the pitch.I helped develop a culture with a winning mentality accompanied by clear short and long term goals that helped the team to perform at a higher level consistently during the season. *Finished the season on top of the table (AAC 2018 champions) after being ranked #9 by the “coaches poll” during preseason. Making a clear statement with strong results against all odds.*Achieved top 25 national rankings with a record of 16 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss. , which had a direct-positive impact in the recruitment quality for the next several seasons.*Scored the winning goal in the championship game against nationally ranked Rainhard Eagles.
