Responsible for providing leadership and training for Health, Men's and Social Justice initiatives in churches and associations throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia for Baptist General Convention of Virginia’s 900+ member churches; Duties include developing and conducting training seminars in the areas of Leadership, Health and Wellness, Men's Ministry, and Social Justice Issues and advocacy. Plan and Facilitate state-wide training conferences as well as develop specific training for local churches and their associations; Collaborate and/or partner with community based organizations, regional, statewide and national organizations to more effectively serve our constiuent communities.

Faced with the daunting health disparities that impact African American men, the American Cancer Society, South Atlantic Division, is presenting the 4th Annual African American Men’s Health Forum, October 30, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Athletic Center located at 3001 North Boulevard in Richmond, Va. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m. for check-in for pre-registered attendees. Routinely attended by more than 400 men from throughout the greater Richmond area, this FREE event is designed to serve as a clarion call to African American men to take a decidedly proactive role in their own healthcare.

Responsibilities include working with the Board, staff and volunteers to implement the mission, goals, objectives, values and policies of the organization; Organizing the resources to implement the short and long range plans; Increasing the vitality of the organization: researching funding sources and writing grant applications to secure funding for current and proposed programs and form viable partnerships/relationships
