Chief Technology OfficerFlowbeams Apr 2024 - PresentFlowBeams focuses on the development of a platform technology to inject without needles. I have already been involved since my PhD work under supervision of co-founder prof. Fernandez Rivas. We received the EIC transition grant (2.5M), allowing us to work full-time on bringing our needle-free technology closer to the market. -
Postdoctoral ResearcherUniversity Of Twente Apr 2024 - Jun 2024Enschede, Overijssel, NlMy contract was extended for three months after finishing my PhD. During this period, I have visited Harvard Medical School for two weeks, where I have performed experiments on optical coherence tomography in the group of prof. Brett Bouma. Furthermore, during this three-month contract I have been involved in outreach activities, such as the Science is Wonderful event in Brussels. -
Phd CandidateUniversity Of Twente Jan 2020 - Apr 2024Enschede, Overijssel, NlAs part of the BuBble-Gun project, I performed my PhD research under supervision of prof. David Fernandez Rivas. This led to the PhD thesis titled 'Lasers & Bubbles: Thermocavitation for needle-free jet injections', which I defended Cum Laude. Using high-speed imaging, I have investigated laser-generated bubbles and jets in microfluidic confinement, with the application of needle-free jet injection. This multidisciplinary project contained physics and biomedical aspects. -
Visiting Phd ResearcherEpfl (École Polytechnique Fédérale De Lausanne) May 2022 - Jun 2022Lausanne, Vaud, ChI visited the Laboratory of Applied Photonic devices of professor Christophe Moser. This group has experience with pulsed laser-actuated jet injection, and within this lab, I performed experiments with this ns-pulsed laser system. These results were compared with our continuous-wave laser set-up in Twente, where we found differences in efficiency, reproducibility and applicability between these lasers. These findings were published in the Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science journal (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.expthermflusci.2023.110926) -
Undergraduate Student ResearcherAalto University School Of Science And Technology Feb 2018 - Jul 2018Espoo, Espoo, FiInternship at Soft Matter & Wetting group for Master Applied Physics. Project title: ''Water lubricated rafts on superhydrophobic surface''. Using an high-speed camera, I imaged an oscillating raft on a superhydrophobic surface. From the videos I identified the different forces acting on the raft, to find the influence of mass of raft, lubrication thickness and the superhydrophobic surface.
