A year long, I have served on the national board of the Jonge Democraten (Young Democrats). The Jonge Democraten is an independent political youth organisation, affiliated with D66, a Dutch progressive-liberal political party. The JD has about 5500 members and 10 local branches. As a board member, I was primarily responsible for managing relations with the press. Often in collaboration with other (board) members, I've published many opinion articles in all major Dutch newspapers. Through press releases and online campaigns, it was my job to draw attention to the policy plans and ideas of the organisation. Furthermore, a lot of time was devoted to assisting the chair in her media appearances in the papers, on the radio and on television.

As a board member of the Amsterdam branch (1400 members) of the Jonge Democraten (Young Democrats), I was responsible for promoting our association and managing contacts with the press. Besides that, I fulfilled my duties as a general board member. I organised many events and coordinated different teams within our organisation.
