As partner and co-creator of BAUPHI, a building physics engineering firm, the aim is to bring many years of international research experience to the building market, offering hands-on and applied advice.Our services include: indoor comfort studies, (hygro)thermal simulation of building components, consultancy in building design, energy concepts for building design, dynamic building simulation, calibrated simulations for M&V, sensoring of buildings and building components, consultancy in R&D for building materials, building components, systems and buildings concepts, on-site analysis of hygrothermal damages in buildings and research for energy policy support.

As a part-time post-doctoral researcher, I am involved in a number of research and consultancy projects in the field of building physics at KU Leuven.

Innovation mandate (IWT) in collaboration with Redco nv (Etex). The major aim of the project is the theoretical development of a robust building system with an exterior air barrier for low-energy wood-frame building constructions.

Feasibility study of highly insulated timber frame walls with an exterior air barrier system in cold and moderate climates. This study includes both in-field and laboratory measuments on the hygrothermal performance on material, component and real building level. In addition this study includes numerical simulations studying the heat, air and moisture transport in these components.
