Ux Designer - New Digital Service Discovery, Design & Prototyping
Voices Of Stoke Partnership (Fulfilling Lives Programme)
Stoke-On-Trent, England, United Kingdom
Jellymould was hired to explore the potential for a digital service to address a perennial problem for people facing multiple disadvantage – having to endlessly repeat personal information to services in order to access support. Working in collaboration with people with lived experience (Expert Citizens) and VOICES of Stoke's project team, we defined and verified the problem through a user research study. This study involved people with recent lived experience and other stakeholders including the NHS, third sector service managers, a local authority commissioner and main grade staff. We then co-designed personas with Expert Citizens and VOICES' project team to enable us to collaboratively explore users' needs and why, when and how they might use the app, the barriers they may face and opportunities to address them. Next, Jellymould designed a number of lo-fi prototypes and carried out usability testing with people with lived experience of the problem. We co-produced a branding and design brief and created the digital service brand and look and feel. This was then applied to a final hi-fi prototype of the app, which will be used to pitch for funding for the next phase of development and was presented at a stakeholder event. This project was funded by the National Lottery Community Fund's Fulfilling Lives programme, a national initiative to test new ways of ensuring people experiencing multiple disadvantage receive joined-up and person-centred services.
