I grew up in a little white house on two acres of land one mile outside of the small town of Fairfield Washington. I loved playing outdoors, playing my violin, and creating things with my hands. We didn't have a lot of money, but around the house there were always tidbits of paper and ribbon and fabric along with cardboard and glue. These were perfect materials for making doll houses. I remember making numerous dresses for my doll as well as a fully furnished house complete with a light that turned on (my older brother had helped me connect some batteries to a bulb and switch). I didn’t really play with the doll once the house was made. It was the creating of everything was what I wanted to do. When I wasn't making doll houses I enjoyed many different types of hand crafts. Then one day, my brother brought home a calligraphy pen and my interest in typography and graphic design was born. Fast forward in time, I am attending my local college double majoring in Music and Design. This choice of study led for a very busy few years and taught me how to balance two majors on different campuses, part-time work, and a 45-minute commute each way to class. After graduating, I chose to move across the country to attend a two-semester long program studying the Bible and experience some life away from home. Once there, I somehow ended up working four part-time jobs on top of a full load of classes. I was grateful for the extra experience I had in scheduling and organizing.A lot has happened since life in the little white house on two acres of land, but so much more is still ahead. I am eager to see where life takes me through design, through music, and through everything beyond.
