• Assist with the preparation of the annual accounts• Balance sheet reconciliations• Enter journals for accruals, prepayments, corrections etc• Work with field offices to ensure reports to the UK Office are delivered to monthly deadlines and are fully reconciled to UK and in-country ledgers• Work with the Finance Assistant on the maintenance of the accounting system in the UK office, ensuring appropriate entries are made, documentation filed and accounts are reconciled to ensure that financial information for distribution to Country Programme Offices are produced on a timely basis• Manage treasury and exchange rate risk also managing the organisational cash flow and maintaining appropriate levels of currency balances• Review, approve and process cash transfer requests from country offices to the UK office to ensure compliance with procedures and cash flow requirements • Arrange the purchase of exotic currencies maximising gains from movements within the currency markets• Review of banking operations in UK and country offices:consolidation of bank accountsupdate of bank signatories to ensure appropriate segregation of duties• Line management of the Finance Assistant

In addition to my role as Finance Assistant I also took on the following responsibilities as Treasurer and Cash Controller:• Development of monthly group cash flow forecasts and the management and review of individual country office forecasts• Review of banking operations in UK and country offices:consolidation of bank accountsupdate of bank signatories to ensure appropriate segregation of duties• Review, approve and process cash transfer requests from country offices to the UK office to ensure compliance with procedures and cash flow requirements• Management of treasury and exchange rate risk

• Assist with accounting entries on the Greentree system, ensuring all transactions are appropriately authorised and supporting documentation completed, scanned and filed• Ensuring the cashbook, sales and purchase ledgers are maintained daily and reconciled• Process cheque and direct transfer payments, electronic funds transfers, cash and cheque deposits• Maintain the Petty cash imprest system• Assist with the preparation and collation of schedules and working papers for the year-end audit of accounts• Export and circulate project ledgers to country programme offices by agreed deadlines• Assist with other finance & organisational tasks outside of my role to support the team and organisation
