As Interior Designer at IBJM I worked with an elite client base to produce luxury interiors throughout Kent, London, Essex, Surrey and Hertfordshire (occasionally further afield), on a 6-month rolling Contract. IBJM work on projects of extreme variety from Property Styling to Full Renovations.Taking great care to completely understand the brief, and work closely with clients throughout the design process to bring fresh ideas and smart idea solutions to the table. The service offered was a highly personally bespoke service, placing great importance and commitment to building strong client relationships, tailoring the process to meet each client's needs, delivering a full interior architecture, furniture design and turn-key styling service from concept through to completion.

Since June 2020, I have been working self-employed as an Interior Designer. Trading as Hicks Interiors, I have been taking on Interior Design projects within Kent. Running the project from brief to install. I work with many suppliers to source fabrics; lighting; furniture; flooring; accessories. As well as, liaising with Contractors to complete all trades works, such as electricians; carpenters; builders etc.

Before being made redundant and the company closing I worked as an Interior Design Consultant, my role saw me project manage small-large projects on behalf of Interior Designer/Architect/Developer. From initial concept right through to installation and aftercare. Working with a brief, my role included site surveys; consultations; sourcing products; pricing; ordering with suppliers; booking delivery and installations; liaising with third parties; overseeing installations.

Before being made redundant and the company closing I would work on mainly Show Homes, my role as Junior Designer and Stylist would require me to work alongside the Senior Designer. Giving input into the design scheme; site surveys; sourcing products; ordering products; liaising with third parties and the Property Developers directly; booking installs; styling the Show Homes ready for handover; photography finished schemes for the company’s portfolio.I also worked directly with new homeowners, who purchased the properties at each development. Offering a full design service that would be implemented before moving in. I would book consultations; work towards their brief; source products etc. as I would for the Show Homes.

I started working for Laura Ashley as a retail adviser in their home furnishings department. However, In April this year I was transferred from a Retail Adviser to an Interior Designer forMaidstone and the surrounding areas. I have a great passion for this job and lovegoing to work everyday. I complete home consultations with a number of customerseach week and no two jobs are the same, which is something that makes this job sointeresting.Once the home consultations are complete I then submit a design estimate to thecustomer and send them unquie mood boards specific to the schemes we havechosen. I will then conduct a follow up phone call or meeting in store to discuss thescheme and make and necessary amendments. Once they are happy with the finalproposal we will arrange payment with them as well as recommending fitters anddecorators for them.As a designer I use Laua Ashley products to produce a relative scheme for mycustomers. I will take samples to their homes to help them visualise the scheme andget a feel for the fabrics we decide to use. As well as selling Laura Ashely productsto our customers we also have a selection of third party products to offer. This thenenables us to complete the final look for the project.I am confident and fluent when dealing with customers to discuss their schemes. Ihave a professional manner at all times and deal with issue and problem resolutionto the full satisfaction of my customers when necessary.I have had nothing but good feedback from my previous and current customers,many of which have either invited me back or sent me pictures to view the finalproduct.
