I was a full-time live in au pair in Sewickley, PA, USA where I provided comprehensive childcare for three children (ages 7-15) 7 days a week and on call. Some of my responsibilities included managing the schedules of all the children, including the planning of engaging activities, providing transportation to school and extracurricular activities. I helped to execute household management chores including laundry, vacuuming, tidying, washing dishes, walking dogs, taking out bins. I organized, shopped for and cooked meals, and oversaw the completion of homework 5 days a week. I also helped plan and coordinate weekly playdates and recreational activities for relaxation and educational development, whilst also enforcing household rules and discipline. I undertook accredited educational courses at Hudson university as part of my programme agreement.

I assisted the preschool teacher in assuming responsibility for the care, safety and development of children ages 0-3 years. I also helped to organize and participate in outdoor activities to stimulate and improve motor skills, and supported the administration of skills assessments. Part of my job included engaging and communication with parents, which I did every morning and afternoon. The most important part of my role was to facilitate school readiness by implementing creative tasks to improve cognitive, behavioural and emotional abilities.

I helped to facilitate the teaching of third year Organizational Psychology students. I was a tutor for both semesters, leading 40 students per semester in marking assignments, heading tutorial sessions and administering help desks and hot seats for student support. Part of my role included assisting the head tutor and corresponding with students, staff and other tutors to ensure assessments were reported in an accurate and timely manner
