Worked as a Milk Operations Supervisor for Gregory's Distribution. Working a 4 on 4 off rota, 6am to 6pm. This involved managing a team of nearly 40 individuals, ensuring the smooth running of milk operations. I scheduled the collection and delivery of around 390 000 litres of milk per day within fixed time frames. I was also responsible for ensuring safety and environmental compliance by both drivers and vehicles, so that we adhered to DTAS, HACCP, DVSA and company guidelines . I supervised the fleet of vehicles and trailers ensuring maintenance requirements were met and vehicles were kept as reliable as possible. Every action and decision I made had budgetary consequences, so I had to ensure I was making the best decisions financially for the company. Started out as a tramper driving reload tankers taking milk from Pembrokeshire up to a cheese factory in Anglesey. Moved to working nights as an ex-farm tanker driver in May 2021, collecting the milk from our Pembrokeshire farms. This role involved performing pre and post shift truck checks to ensure vehicle was safe to drive, remained compliant and any defects reported. Worked as part of a team of night drivers to ensure milk was collected from all farms on all routes and loaded into transhipping tankers in the correct order. I gained knowledge and understanding of the different processes to follow to agitate, sample, empty and clean the different tanks at each farm, at all times being conscious of the fact that we are dealing with food safety and must adhere to DTAS and HACCP guidlines. Ensured procedures were followed and paperwork was completed correctly to meet company and customer requirements and so that the chain of food safety and traceability is recorded.

I qualified as a Maths teacher in 2010 when I gained QTS after following a GTP route into teaching at Kennet School in Thatcham. I started my NQT year there working part-time, but then moved to Pembrokeshire before completing my NQT year.
