Leadership & Management Wales is a unique centre for excellence, funded by government to benefit businesses of all sizes and sectors across Wales. Hosted by Cardiff University, LMW was formed to support businesses in developing their leadership and management skills, enabling them to increase efficiency and help grow the economy in Wales. Employed by Glyndwr University, I cover North Wales as the Business Engagement Officer. I work with Welsh businesses to help identify their LMD issues and requirements, drive up demand for management development, and provide support and guidance to managers and leaders engaging with LMD. I do this through co-ordinating regional learning seminars; developing tools and resources on the LMW Web site (lmw.org.uk); developing and delivering marketing campaigns through traditional marketing channels and social media; conducting regular business visits to discuss training needs; presenting at regional networks and business support conferences, exhibitions and awards; and generally being the first point of contact for businesses wishing to engage in leadership and management development. In offering 'on the ground' support for businesses I manage the feedback from businesses to develop improved support. I assist the LMW Director in developing and delivering the strategy and operational plan of LMW and develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the Welsh Government local delivery personnel.
