I was brought into Maxar as a Subject Matter Expert to implement industry best practices in the design and development of GNC flight software for their next-generation Earth imaging satellite constellation, WorldView Legion.Key contribution: I led a team of engineers to re-architect a mission-critical MATLAB/Simulink-based GNC simulation and flight software codebase to help the company meet a business-critical launch date; my work resulted in software release timelines being measured in hours instead of weeks.

Joined Draper as a GNC Engineering Consultant (through Softworld, Inc.) to establish the GNC flight software development environment and codebase for an unmanned sub-orbital vehicle. Worked on flight software development for Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Docking of the Dynetics Human Landing System.Key contribution: Designed and implemented an efficient environment for concurrent, collaborative development of a MATLAB based simulation and flight software development platform capable of supporting automated processor-in-the-loop testing.

Joined Millennium to work on flight control algorithm design and software development. Leveraged model based systems engineering and automatic code generation to take flight control algorithms from prototype to production at an unprecedented pace. Pioneered the implementation of continuous integration into the flight software development process. Led technical development of a control moment gyro (CMG) for small-satellites, where I was involved in everything from designing control algorithms and writing firmware to managing the overall project from prototype to qualification. Along the way I was the GNC responsible engineer for various satellite programs.Key contribution: Effectively led the resolution of several critical issues encountered with a primary component of the CMG during a rigorous environmental qualification testing campaign.

Supported functions ranging from wiring harness manufacturing and flight software development to spacecraft testing and flight operations. Transferred into the Attitude Control Systems group to act as the interface between customer, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and operations teams. Analyzed requirements, performed system level trades, maintained pointing budgets, validated functional testing results, and developed operations procedures for various spacecraft.Key contribution: Developed an application for retrieving and analyzing large amounts of archived telemetry data in order to determine an optimal in-orbit testing strategy so as to minimize the uncertainty of diurnal thermal effects on payload pointing accuracy.
