Profile bio

About Eduardo Mucino

My name is Eduardo Mucino. I am an experienced Aerospace Engineer with a passion for robotics and all things space related.I am a bilingual US Citizen, fluent in English and Spanish. I attended the University of Michigan, where I earned a Master's in space systems engineering and a Bachelor's in aerospace engineering. While at Michigan, I worked at an astrophysics research laboratory where I performed CFD simulations of laser experiments aimed at understanding hydrodynamic instabilities in supernova remnants.I have over 10 years of experience in the space industry where I’ve acquired expertise in the areas of spacecraft dynamics analysis, control systems design, and flight operations. I've worked as a systems engineer and have proven myself capable at requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, verification, and validation for large projects involving some of the world's most complex systems. Furthermore, I've demonstrated competence in project management, data analysis, and software development.Along the way I co-founded Gravity Laboratories, with the ultimate mission of empowering small teams and individuals. We are currently working on a membership management SaaS application for organizations run by small teams who might otherwise be lacking IT support and infrastructure to develop or even maintain such a system on their own.I am also the founder of Futuro Creative, a consulting firm which provides engineering services to clients in the Aerospace and Defense industry.Experience has taught me that my professional value boils down to the fact that I thrive in challenging environments, but am able to deliver on all tasks—no matter how big or small.

Listed skills include Matlab, Systems Engineering, Space Systems, Aerospace Engineering, and 50 others.

Subject Matter Expert (Consultant)

Torrance, California, Us

Inversion is making space a transportation layer for Earth by creating low-cost re-entry vehicles. I was brought into Inversion as a Subject Matter Expert to implement industry best practices in the design and development of GNC flight software for Ray, Inversion's first-generation reentry vehicle, in addition consulting on overall system and mission design.Key contribution: Laying the foundations for GNC flight software integration, testing, and operations to turn theory into practice.

Co-Founder And Technical Lead

Los Angeles, California, Us

Co-Founded Gravity Laboratories with the ultimate mission of creating products to empower small teams and individuals. As the technical lead at Gravity Laboratories, and my duties include everything from software development to hardware design.Key contribution: Leveraged spare resources in the embedded processor of an off-the-shelf communications module to develop a custom brushless DC motor driver which resulted in a part count reduction while yielding improved functionality over available off-the-shelf ICs.

Subject Matter Expert (Consultant)

Westminster, Colorado, Us

Maxar designs and manufactures satellites and spacecraft components for communications, Earth observation, exploration and on-orbit servicing and assembly. I was brought into Maxar as a Subject Matter Expert to implement industry best practices in the design and development of GNC flight software for their next-generation Earth imaging satellite constellation, WorldView Legion.Key contribution: I led a team of engineers to re-architect a mission-critical MATLAB/Simulink-based GNC simulation and flight software codebase to help the company meet a business-critical launch date; my work resulted in software release timelines being measured in hours instead of weeks.
