My team is the platform, infrastructure, data, and server team for Growth UI and the Web across Netflix Consumer Engineering. We're a highly technical team that owns both the Web and Growth UI Data platform, serving twenty-six teams across three different organizations. Our current stack is React, TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, and Webpack.For the Web Platform, we own and operate the entire consumer Web ecosystem (server, infrastructure, and development platform) that supports all consumer applications on Netflix.com. For the Data Platform, we own and operate the APIs (GraphQL, Falcor, and Groovy) and servers that power the non-member experiences across TV, Android, iOS, and Web. We also own and architect the development platform for building server-driven UI's (SDUI) for all of Growth.Operating two critical platforms serving billions of requests with a relatively small team is a challenge therefore, my role is to set a strategy and direct the teams to focus on the highest impact work to advance the platforms and reduce the cost of entry for UI development. Participating in technical strategy and staying plugged into two disparate platforms means my weeks are always full but I still make time to mentor and invest in the personal growth and development of each member of my team and find tremendous joy in doing so.

While working primarily in a UI engineering role, I served as engineering lead for feature development and the creation of A/B tests (React/LESS/NodeJS) for the netflix.com homepage. I also served as the leader of several working groups and infrastructure projects ranging from website performance to testing ergonomics.Some of my favorite projects are Atticus: a stateless caching proxy (NodeJS/Redis) which increased automated end-to-end test stability from 88% to 99% and Our Story: A templating framework enabling the rapid creation and iteration of server driven A/B tests.

At Blink Health I worked with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders in a cross-functional effort to create the main, HIPAA compliant, web application that allowed millions of people to purchase medications in a cost effective manner. During my time at Chartbeat in New York City, I architected and implemented several Javascript applications (AngularJS/D3/LESS/MySQL) utilizing both realtime and historical data. I also led the Python integration (Django/Tornado/MongoDB) of the Google DFP library into Chartbeat advertising product.Notable Projects:- Heads Up Display: A real time analytics view of a live client website using iframes and the postMessage protocol written using Google Closure.- Chartbeat for Advertisers: A multi-faceted AngularJS product for advertisers and publishers utilizing Gulp.js for task management and Karma/Jasmine for testing.
