Lead, Develop and Implement Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory programs for specialty vegetable oils and seed worldwide as well as starches and sweeteners in the greater Chicago area. Oversee projects internationally for specialty seeds and vegetable oils.Talent management for a large international food safety, quality and regulatory team.

Responsibilities includes leading all FSQR activities across the business unit to include strategic and tactical planning in alignment with Cargill FSRA and business unit plans in seed and oil product lines and their development process. Direct development and management of all Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR) systems in the business including: continuous improvement of FSQR processes and systems, developing and implementing FSQR policies, ensuring connectivity and collaboration between internal and external business unit functions, directing FSQR talent management, directing management of the overall external FSQR environment including customer, supplier and regulatory interfaces for the business unit. Collaboration with Cargill BUs in geographies outside of the NA in seed and oil products.

Responsibilities included assurance of all final product shipments to meet or exceed customer requirements. Assurance of quality necessitated design and maintenance of quality management systems encompassing food safety and quality (incl. methods, procedures, maintenance, calibration, cross-checks, training, auditing, raw materials verification, purchasing). Management of talent including the hiring and performance management of the QM team. Design and facilitate training programs to ensure sufficient knowledge of QM members on production, water and wastewater operations to enable process support. Approval and coordination of QM process support activities across multiple functions.

Lead quality and food safety systems for two California Cargill locations.

Worked on developing products from the waste streams of the Chondroitin Sulfate process at the Denver, CO facility.
