• Undertake federal environmental assessments of ecoENERGY for Renewable Power (RP) Program projects.
• Assess and analyze technical studies and the consultation programs of projects and formulate preliminary conclusions on the environmental assessment findings.
• Review the environmental impacts of major projects being proposed
• Assess EA-review-related material in consultation with review agencies, the public and First Nations; advise on the need for additional relevant material and on the nature and scope of additional technical review data.
• Ensure that Follow-up Programs are implemented for assigned ecoENERGY RP Program projects and others as needed throughout the year. This includes coordination of the review of reports and plans with federal departments.
• Conduct site visits to ensure all mitigation measures & follow-up programs are in place.

• Project management and management of staff
• Writing, reviewing and auditing Environmental Assessment Reports
• Assist in the overall project planning and development of project scope of work
• Complete and/or review technical reports
• Review and evaluate project risks
• Manage contractors & consultants for environmental projects

• Providing essential support to the Environmental Assessment Specialist in the application of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act throughout Ontario field units
• Preparing or participating in impact assessment documentation
• Participating in reviewing assessments prepared by contractors, outside proponents and Park’s staff
• Providing technical advice and assistance to the Environmental Assessment Specialist regarding environmental impact assessment and natural resource management
• Liaising with the Regional Screening and coordinating Committee, other federal as well as provincial agencies, Parks Headquarters, universities and outside interest groups or individuals with respect to CEAA and.
• Field sampling (i.e. pit tagging Eastern Ontario native turtle, frog and snake species; monitoring Black Tern breeding grounds)
