I'm an Associate Professor in Public Engagement and Outreach in the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation (ICG) at the University of Portsmouth, where I work to share our research with the wider world and break down barriers that prevent people from participating in physics and astronomy. I am in charge of the ICG's strategic outreach and public engagement programme, which involves running our physics schools outreach programme and supporting ICG researchers to develop new and impactful ways to engage the public with their research. I am also the Impact Lead for the ICG, working more widely to ensure that our research makes a difference in the real world, and EDICo-Lead, working to make the ICG a place where everyone can thrive. I am also one of the founders of a new University-wide Public Engagement network. I am an experienced science communicator and presenter, and regularly appear on TV and radio to talk about astronomy and science.I am an astrophysicist by training and completed my PhD at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics at the University of Manchester.
