Litigated wide range of complex legal matters, including those involving contracts, intellectual property, employment, regulatory, and white collar criminal matters. Significant matters included securing $80 million judgment for client Shareholder Representative Services before the Delaware Chancery Court in a post-merger milestone payment dispute; winning a $179 million arbitration award for Google against its former employees in connection their founding of a competing autonomous vehicle start-up; and prevailing against the SEC in case involving allegations of stock-option backdating on successful motion for judgment as a matter of law following eight days of trial testimony.Maintained robust pro bono practice that included leading coalition of lawyers on behalf of more than 270 clients incarcerated at San Quentin State Prison in case that established constitutional violations stemming from prison's mishandling of the COVID-19 outbreak; representation of former officials with the U.S. Department of Interior in striking down a Trump Administration regulation that would have jeopardized migratory bird populations; and securing the transfer and eventual release of Annika Deasy, a Swedish national convicted of accessory to murder.
