Prior to Natural Grocers implementing a Private Label Department, the company was able to launch 6 product lines in 5 years. In the 4+ years I was in my role as Private Label Manager, I had put 32 programs on shelf, and had 22 additional programs in development for future launch. This position and department needed to be established from the ground up. I was integral in the creation of procedures and policies, I participated in the planning of the Marketing approach to our new brand, assisted the Operations Team by developing brand and policy trainings and worked with Accounting to ensure proper set up of net terms for our manufacturing partners.I provided sales updates and forecasts to our vendors, and monitored the movement of the private label items within each category, in partnership with the branded product Category Managers. I also ensured that any discrepancies occurring, in regards to purchase orders, inventory, invoices, date codes, etc., were addressed with our chosen distribution partners to advocate for our vendors, and also to protect our investment in our product.
