Hello! My name is Jen Petro and I currently hold my B.S. in Exercise science from Grand Valley State University. Additionally, through working different jobs within the heath care field, I’ve established a versatile experience and skill set. Some of these positions include: Physical Therapist Technician, CPR/First Responder for GVSU’s sports teams, Support Service Technician at Corewell health, Group fitness instructor and more! Through these impactful experiences, I’ve learned how to build an exercise program for specific populations, rehabilitate and assist patients, and communicate with team members regarding patient care and other aspects of care. More importantly, I’ve developed an array set of skills through these roles including: empathy, compassion, leadership, and problem solving. I posses empathy for every patient I work with intertwined with my compassion to help others strive in reaching their goals. Through being a group fitness instructor, I have been able to develop my leadership skills by leading group fitness classes that tailor towards high intensity interval training classes. I’m eager to jump into the workforce and pursue a career within the healthcare field where I can further apply my skills and knowledge, improving the healthcare and well being of patients.
