-Gather and assess data, conducting research studies, and developing, implementing, and assessing the department’s comprehensive strategic/business plans. -Work with DGS’ various business units to develop performance measures. -Provide advice to the Director, Executive staff on trends and issues related to cultural resources and demographic characteristics using information gleaned from planning studies. -Recommend programmatic and policy changes based on the implications resulting from the assessment of these trends and issues as well as the development, coordination, technical assistance and training relative to surveys and related data. -Research, organize, and complete special projects and other special assignments as needed under the direction of the Director.

- Provide leadership, direction, and oversight of the special operations of the Department's initiatives, projects and assignments. - Undertake policy and procedure development including establishment and implementation of new policies and procedures.- Manage special projects relating to the Department's overall goal of serving as a business manager for state government. - Advise the Director and the Administration of potential opportunities for efficiency and increased effectiveness.- Represent the Director and/or the Department on committees, boards and commissions, and at official functions or events.

Working on coordination of the state's share of the federal stimulus dollars. Policy management between agencies and outreach to stakeholders take up most of my days.
