Management of DST (Director of Science & Technology) Projects/Programmes which span over 3-5 years with budgets of >£40m. Working directly with company Directors.Projects involve multiple internal business areas, external NERC Research Centres and Marine Partners across the UK & Globally.Support to Scientists to enable delivery of research which contributes to the long term & national capability science programmes. This can be in terms of Publications, Cruises or new Technologies.Other responsibilities include Line Management, development & implementation of Project Management best practices

Project Managed projects of around £1m within an annual change budget of £8m at Aviva Health. Delivered a range of IT and business change projects using both Agile SCRUM and waterfall methodologies.Delivered projects in varying sizes some from inception for a number of different technologies including web services, CRM and bespoke systems.Monitored and controlled all risks, issues, change requests, deliverables and costs.Built strong relationships with Key stakeholders including Aviva Health Executives, PMO, IT Development, Architecture, Release Management, Test Team and the Business.Tasked managed the project team and put monitors in place to track progress. Worked with 3rd party suppliers to deliver critical IT components for projects.Worked across multiple work-streams and ran multiple projects in parallel.

Managed and delivered new system functionality and process enhancements to over twenty different business areas across Aviva Health. Project Managed over twenty five small changes at any one time, and implemented on average twenty changes per annum. Created timelines, project plans, business cases (including cost benefit analysis calculations).Captured functional and non-functional business requirements. Worked with IT developers, the business and IT Architects to develop robust solution designs.Packaged and co-ordinated changes into IT system releases, both integrated or for individual systems. Managed the change control process, created weekly reports, and coordinated system build by IT developers.Produced test scripts and carried out functional testing with businessrepresentatives. Managed defects & fixes during testing.Supported the Go live implementation and any go live support including managing defects.Stakeholder management across a number of business areas, including acting as key contact for teams including Claims and Marketing.Developed the teams processes, and documented new processes. Responsible for training several new members of the team.
