Profile bio

About Jena K. Kitchen

With over eight years of experience, I guide social impact organizations with trauma-responsive strategy and program design, effectively creating organizational systems while fostering a culture of wellbeing and support among staff. Collaborative, flexible, and attentive to detail, once I catch a vision, I strategically work to bring it to life. In 2023-2024, I supported the Iowa City Truth & Reconciliation Commission established by the City of Iowa City in their efforts to organize trauma-informed truth telling events for the public. Between 2021-2024, I helped launch the program strategy and organizational systems for a small peacebuilding organization, including managing a team of trauma healing leaders doing community-based reconciliation in the Horn of Africa. Previously, I have coordinated a Participatory Action Research project with reconciliation practitioners and designed a trauma-informed leadership project for leaders in Burma. As a person with disabilities, I have lived experiences with structural barriers. Combined with a keen sense of creative problem-solving, I use these experiences to advocate with and to promote others' wellbeing and to create pathways for individuals and organizations to thrive. In 2024, I founded Radiate Social Impact where we bring your organization's vision to life while working to sustain you and your team in the process. We partner with purpose-driven leaders and their organizations to co-create healthy workplace cultures, values-aligned strategy, and trauma-responsive programs. We do this by utilizing insights from neuroscience, conflict transformation tools, and justice-oriented strategy. We believe that, within an organizational system, if flourishing starts within individuals, teams, programs, and processes, then positive social impact can radiate outward.I am drawn to the intersections of neuroscience, faith, peacebuilding, and transitional justice and hold a master’s degree in conflict analysis and resolution focused on trauma-responsive leadership, an executive leadership certificate, and bachelor’s degrees in sociocultural anthropology and Latin American studies.

Listed skills include Public Speaking, Leadership, Community Outreach, Spanish, and 37 others.
