A recovering tech nerd who found my calling in leadership, I care deeply for the wellbeing of others. The opportunity to support my teammates on an individual level while also designing processes and customizing tools to make everyone’s lives easier and more efficient is what gets me out of bed every morning - along with the aroma of fresh coffee wafting through the house! I have a demonstrated history of wearing all the hats from Individual Contributor to Director level, engineering to support, back office to sales ops, corporate to startups.While I began my career solving the problems of machines, I quickly learned to love the challenge of solving problems for people and it turned out I have a knack for empowering folks to be the best versions of themselves. I am very proud that I retained all support engineers on our team during my five-year tenure in management roles in a very competitive job market due, at least in part, to my genuine interest in their career aspirations, my deep focus on the culture of our team, and the processes I implemented that made their work more productive and their lives easier. I’ve never met a color coding system I didn’t love and am passionate about documentation - both internal and customer facing. I am very relationship focused, not afraid to tackle tough problems, and make informed, data-driven decisions. Becoming a working mother of three under three has made me a master at multitasking and endlessly resourceful.I have many years experience in deeply technical work and while I’m more strategic in my current role, I continue to keep my technical skills sharp as I’ve found the ability to talk the talk and walk the walk endlessly helpful in effective management and leadership. I have technical experience in distributed systems, containerization, Kubernetes, Erlang, Java, Python, and noSQL. I consider myself a Salesforce power user and can throw something into a bash script should the need arise. When I'm not busy with my day job, I am passionate about giving back to my local community. I serve as a member of the Board of Directors for Twin Star Credit Union and volunteer in numerous organizations invested in getting more students - especially female students - intrigued by computer science. I love to travel; can you guess the only state I’ve never visited? Pacific Northwest born and bred, I fully subscribe to the Scandinavian ideal that “there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing” and love spending Saturday mornings out on the trails with my husband, daughters, and 90-pound Dogo Arginteno.
