My research focused on the implementation of a pattern recognition-based myoelectric control scheme. I designed and programmed real-time biofeedback using data visualization and dimensionality reduction techniques to provide to users during the training process. I also quantified the relationship between offline training and online usability of a myoelectric control system using multiple linear regression. Using a co-adaptive training strategy, I was able to generate over a 25% increase in the ability to use feature space characteristics to predict online myoelectric control performance.

I worked on a project that aimed to develop an antigen-sensitive hydrogel sensor for the early detection of periprosthetic infection. I coordinated and performed friction, viscosity, pressure, and wear testing to determine the properties of the razor cartridges. I developed macros using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Excel to analyze and to compile test results, and I also wrote technical reports that were distributed to researchers within the company. In addition to these roles, I organized a small research team to explore the forces generated during the wet-shaving process, and I experimented with a WAM robot arm and confocal microscopy.
