Write scripts, verify facts, edit affiliate tape, pull archival material, plan future coverage, determine the editorial direction of the material, collaborate with other departments to bring in new material, coordinate liveshots and reporting, edit copy, and design special occasion feeds.

Led an award-winning investigative team to develop deep dives on complicated topics involving investigative subject matter. Researched stories, wrote scripts, did interviews, edited anchor stand-ups, logistics, helped edit video, wrote promotional copy, developed extensive sources, created plans for sweeps and worked with lawyers to vet copy. Tackled subject matter ranging from crime to corruption to politics to policy to corporate fraud to government waste and abuse. Also produced breaking news and ran the helicopter camera.

Was asked to launch the station's investigative unit so I created research files, developed sources, did sweeps planning, completed interviews, logistical plans, promotional materials, graphics and shot and edited our work. We covered everything from political scandals to serial and spree killers to major court cases to child marriages, environmental problems, illegal dumping, police corruption, judicial inconsistencies, to illegal activities involving the drug and DUI courts and the legislative research council and several legislators.Prior to starting the investigative unit, I worked as a line producer researching and writing all the show scripts, creating teases and headlines, developing the graphics, boothing the show, coordinating the live-shots, and running the editorial meetings. I produced the 11, 5, and 6 o'clock broadcasts.

Ran the weekend assignment desk at a time in which there was a crack epidemic, the AIDS epidemic, two race riots, a major police corruption scandal and a record number of homicides and serial killers. Did research on topics, figured out logistics, assigned reporters and photographers to regular stories and breaking news, did beat calls, listened to the scanner, helped producers, developed sources and created robust futures files. On week days I worked as a field producer creating the Emmy-nominated Youth Matters, a segment in which I directed a team of teen reporters to cover issues that were important to them. We then wrote, produced, tracked and got those stories to air.I produced the Emmy-nominated "Wednesday's Woman" a segment featuring important women and issues involving gender. I produced "Tech Tuesday" a segment about the latest in cybersecurity, weather, technology, and tech-related art instillations. I also covered breaking news like the American Eagle airplane crash, the Herbert Baumeister serial killings, the Klan rally (which turned into a "mini-riot", the race riot of 1996, and several political scandals.
