In this role, I supported the campaign's grassroots advocacy to increase grassroots constituency and support the activities of the Shot@Life Champions, the campaign’s most committed individuals who advocate, educate, and fundraise for access to global childhood vaccines. Over the internship, I engaged with members of the public, members of congress, businesses, and civil society partners, through education, advocacy, and fundraising to support and invest in the global childhood immunization programs of UNICEF, World Health Organization, and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. I supported and managed over 350,000 supporters and over 2,500 core grassroots advocates in all 50 states, striving to decrease vaccine preventable childhood death and give every child a shot at life no matter where they live.

Relevant content was disseminated through various channels such as bi-weekly college wide newsletter and daily posts on social media channels. Lastly, assisting the team on projects throughout the year including the FLUShot campaign and photographing student networking events.

As a Campus Ministry Graduate Intern, responsibilities include plan, execute, and evaluate programs with the aim to build and develop community and support wellness among students at Saint Louis University. In the first year adapting to the needs of students during the remote year by developing and implementing program titles "Wellness Wednesday", offering community and wellness initiatives for students accessible remotely on zoom and social media. Following the returning to in-person programing, assisting full time staff programing including weekend retreats (nature retreat, senior reflection retreat, connections retreat, etc), Spring Break Immersion trip to Navajo Nation, and policy advocacy initiative in Washington D.C. empowering students to advocate for Immigration, Criminal Justice, and Environmental reform. Additional responsibilities including providing pastoral support to students and staff over the two years by having routine check-ins, office-hours, and event collaboration with university programs.

The retreat interns work together to plan and implement three Micah retreats- One-day Fall retreat, Spring Weekend retreat for 80+ attendees and leaders, and Senior retreat for 80 attendees. In addition, co-interns and Micah staff work together to plan and run other events throughout the year and address the needs of the community.
