Founded Salt & Pepper, a consultancy specialising in national and international communications for a wide range of food, drink, tourism and agricultural businesses, from global powerhouses to local start-ups. Clients included Marriott International, Charoen Pokphand Foods, Beyond Meat, Nairn's, Church's Chicken, Pamu Venison, NZ Pork and Dole.

Managed communications for the food, medical technology and marine portfolios, along with NZTE's business services. This involved working with a global team of marketing and communications managers, Trade Commissioners, programme managers and independent agencies, covering the US and Canada, the UK and Europe, Australia Pacific, Greater China, India, the Middle East and Africa and Latin America.I also handled speech writing and strategic communications support for NZTE CEO, Peter Chrisp, and speech writing and key message development for the Minister of Economic Development, Steven Joyce.

At Porter Novelli, I worked on a selection of PR clients. Projects included creating and implementing an awareness raising campaign for Shine, a national domestic abuse charity. This included setting up several media opportunities for MP Dr. Jackie Blue, who decided to talk about her own experiences publicly to bring attention to the work that Shine was doing. Interviews with Jackie Blue appeared in local and international publications such as Marie Claire, Women’s Health, Woman’s Day and Australian Women’s Weekly. I also assisted with issues management for a number of well-known New Zealand organisations, interviewed numerous high-profile CEOs and HR managers for a diversity perception audit and wrote communications plans for a number of recognised companies.

At BPR, I enjoyed looking after existing clients and identifying new business opportunities. I managed entire campaigns, from winning new business and presenting communications proposals, to implementation, measurement and evaluation.

Tasks carried out at Intermediary Communications included media relations, media release/feature article writing, issues management, strategic PR proposals and tactics schedules, new business development, social media PR, copywriting and event management. I often oversaw advertising, PR and website development teams, to produce collateral, websites and other communications tools for clients.

Focused on developing positive media and client relationships. Carried out a nationwide perception audit for beauty client Janesce, interviewed/wrote case studies for Instant Finance, wrote media releases/articles, became familiar with invoicing/time management systems. I also organised a luxurious polo event for a well known property developer. I designed the entire look and feel of the event, from flowers to the music to the chairs/tables. I convinced Simon Gault to provide personal catering which went down exceedingly well with the property developer's VIP guests. I also managed the production of all collateral and advertising (a guide to polo booklet, banners for the polo grounds etc).
