In a world that is long on talk and short on action, I am driven to assimilate information quickly and drive rapid change. For me knowledge without action, is just that....knowledge. We need to ensure that we push for the rubber to hit the road, with a test, learn iterate focus and drive speed to value. People don’t like change, but change is critical and the ability to evolve at the right cadence is key. One thing I have learnt is that to drive this change (better efficiency, business growth, product development etc), keeping the vision simple and using that as your true north is a critical factor to ensure that you can keep things focused and on track. I resonate with the quote “you can do anything, but you can’t do everything”, so determining quickly what you are not going to do, is as important as what we decide to do. My experience has spanned corporates to family business, from technology to primary industry, but even though the diversity in roles is wide, the commonalities are clear. Keep it simple, get the right people on the bus, develop that clear belief that aligns the team, then move it forward at a pace that suits the business and the team.
