CurrentDemonstrates superior customer service by assisting patrons with using digital or print resources while promoting the library's diverse portfolio of programs & services. Uses creativity and innovation to establish new programs, services, and systems. - Established and leads the growth of the Reference by Mail program in support of incarcerated individuals. Answered over 1,600 questions and handled over 700 individual requests. - Co-chair of the Telephone Customer Service QA/QC Committee. - Trained library patrons how to navigate technology to access digital library resources.In this position, I have been able to place a greater focus on underserved communities. This includes outreach to and programming for Senior citizens, the LGBT community, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and incarcerated persons. My efforts include ongoing outreach programming to the Ethel MacLeod Hart Senior Center, Library Insiders, Taking Care (health information series), a legal information series for the LGBT community, and a twice-monthly book discussion group at the Sacramento County Jail. I am now the coordinator of the SPL Reference by Mail service, providing support to incarcerated persons.
