In this position I lead a staff of over 40 excellent people in designing and delivering services to meet our strategic goals of being a center for learning and culture and a place where community members connect with each other. We strive to be integrated into the fabric of the community and to be part of the city's success and prosperity. I also manage an annual appropriated budget of $3.3 million dollars as well as $200,000 in funding from trusts and our Friends group. On most days m biggest challenge is our 50+ year old building in need of a major renovation and advocating for funding for that project.

2006Perform duties of director when the director is absent. Attend Trustee meetings and assist the director in all short and long term planning and budgeting. Selection of all adult nonfiction materials and coordinate collection development of adult nonfiction and other adult media. Planning of adult programming, including monthly book group. Design and maintain library website. Perform some computer maintenance and software installation. Reference Librarian 1998-2004Provide reference assistance to both adult and child patrons, including assisting patrons with electronic databases, internet searching, and using the online catalog. Responsible for the selection of all adult reference materials and a large portion of the circulating adult nonfiction collection as well. Outside of these traditional reference duties I was also responsible for weekly staff schedules, materials selection, adult programming.
