Evaluated research projects and academic programs for ORSP’s Research Evaluation and Assessment Services (REAS), which has supported 26 grants with a total awards portfolio of over $37.5 million since its establishment in 2012. Coordinated, planned, developed, conducted, and monitored research projects to include developing assessments/surveys, collecting and analyzing data, interpreting results, recommending theory-based solutions, and determining best-practice strategies. Mentored graduate and undergraduate students in program management and evaluation.• Lead author of 7 reports and co-author on 14 reports in support of 10 externally funded academic programs, feedback instrumental in implementing quality research experiences for students. Lead author for 2017 Satisfaction Surveys report for Housing Authority of El Paso, a report commissioned by City of El Paso to learn proprietors’ quality of services to tenants (written & oral communication).• Lead author for three years on the Institutional Development Core report for UTEP’s $23 million five-year, multi-site BUILDing SCHOLARS program for NIH. Tracked the program’s effects at the institutional level. Gathered and analyzed longitudinal data on UTEP student and faculty products. UTEP qualified to submit a proposal for a 5-year extension; favorable feedback indicates a strong likelihood of approval. • Initiated a standardized reporting structure across the research unit to align qualitative data presentation with the Course-Based Undergraduate Research Educator (CURE) literature. Introduced a secure organizational system for sharing and accessing all files within the research unit (program management, organization & initiative).• Improved 6 programs, using methodological approaches including quantitative and qualitative methods techniques for REAS’ six largest programs, which together averaged over $5.5 million from agencies such as NIH, NSF, DOE, HHMI and Olin College

Mentored local businesses on the entire innovation process, assessing roadblocks, and advising ways to improve their time to market. Mentored entrepreneurs in conducting market research, evaluating business strategies, and drafting business plans for new start-up companies. Aided Director in negotiating and executing license agreements with companies to use UTEP intellectual property. Wrote grant proposals and evaluation reports. • Led 2-year UTEP Paso del Norte Clean Energy $175,000 incubator program to launch clean energy start-ups. Set up metrics and documentation to ensure grant compliance for agencies, including two 5-year Texas Emerging Technology Fund (ETF) grants for $300,000 and $100,000. Led project and wrote annual agency reports as Principal Investigator (leadership, written & oral communication).• Authored over 50 Market Research reports for UTEP’s Intellectual Property Committee (IPC); 43 non-IPC reports. Drafted over 20 Business Plans, including 5-year financial pro-forma statements. Trained in NSF's i-Corps program as mentor (market analysis, business strategies, financial statements, market analysis, and facilitator to startup & incubation space).• Provided individual professional services to entrepreneurs and UTEP faculty, staff, and students. Supported 200 CREIE projects, with 70 to 90 active projects tracked at any given time (project management). • Mentored and coordinated small businesses submissions for SBIR/STTR & Texas ETF grants (grant proposals, mentoring).• Facilitated 17 teams’ participation in the Paso Del Norte Venture Competition over 5 years. Participated in negotiations to execute license agreements with companies to use UTEP intellectual property. Five PDNVC teams successfully launched technology-related businesses in the El Paso region licensing UTEP technology (technology commercialization & licensing). • Developed, executed marketing strategy to promote entrepreneurship on campus

Research and data collection, analysis, and summaries for the Director. Managed students to meet deadlines. Organized and led promotional events such as Global Entrepreneurship Week, which became an annual celebration to promote entrepreneurship on-campus. Promoted to Associate Director within 6 months.

• Warranty analysis and troubleshooting of regular production products, determining root causes of product flaws. Worked with the relevant departments to solve problems and improve customer satisfaction.

• Developed machinery for manufacturing of electronic products. Performed 3D modeling and tolerance stack-ups of design in order to create technical drawings and specifications for machine components• Reviewed equipment requirements with customers. Selected components and collaborated with suppliers to fabricate machine parts. Inspected and approved supplier parts. Supervised skilled trade assembly and debug of equipment.
