Key Accomplishments: Consulted with the State of Illinois on environmental scan development; Poster Presenter at the 2017 National Cannabis Summit; Workshop Presenter at the 2017 Statewide Substance Use Disorder Conference; created our annual Drugs Kill Dreams Youth Summit and Reinforcing Yesterday to Build Tomorrow Parent Summit; coordinated numerous town hall events focused on alcohol and other drugs; lead the coordination in bi-annual prescription drug events in partnership with the Torrance Police Department, Lomita Sheriff’s Station, and Torrance Memorial Medical Center; developed our school-based youth program creating visibility, receiving Torrance Unified School District approval for all middle and high schools, and tripling student participation in the program; being interviewed by Torrance CitiCable’s News Break Live program (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwvlDHA4Zic); and held our first summer, winter, and spring programs for youth ages 11-17 for students from LAUSD and TUSD.

Key Accomplishments: Program development for the Inglewood and Gardena contracts; supervisory consultation with management; developed curriculum for youth training programs; recruited, trained, and guided both youth and adult volunteer base in all aspects of community organizing, which includes planning, implementing, and evaluating drug-free presentations, events, and policies in their community.

Key Accomplishments: Coordinated weekly Affordable Care Act (ACA) Enrollment events in Los Angeles County, including the largest ACA event county-wide; worked on CA State legislation targeting the hospital industry to improve the quality of life and care for Californians; and represented employees in the Kaiser Division located in Harbor City, Torrance, Gardena, Carson, Long Beach, Lomita, and Moreno Valley totaling over 1,750 members.

Key Accomplishments: Coordinated our youth-led Food for Thought Campaign targeting school food, providing more fresh fruits and vegetables, and creating easily accessible community gardens for low-income communities of color; created and managed our regional volunteer program; lead community-wide advocacy and organizing efforts leading to the passage of two policies in Long Beach creating Healthy School Zones and targeting alcohol-related nuisances; and increased our organizational fundraising.

Key Accomplishments: Actively participated in community-wide advocacy and organizing efforts leading to the passage of Smoke Free Parks in Gardena, Tobacco Retail Licensing in Gardena, Lawndale, and Cerritos and pre-policy for a Social Host Ordinance; coordinated Red Ribbon Week activities within the City of Gardena and at Gardena High School.
