Before joining Seattle Public Utilities, Jenifer retired from Southern California Edison (Principal Manger, Emerging Technologies and Transmission & Distribution Transformation Office) and was the Managing Director of Technical Services at Edison Mission Energy. Ms. Lee managed teams that have successfully executed critical, multi-disciplinary projects across EME’s wind and gas businesses. These teams provide services to support EME’s facility siting, environmental review, permitting, due diligence, financing, and construction for EME’s wind, solar photovoltaic (PV), transmission interconnection, and natural gas development efforts. This included the development and deployment of an ESRI award winning, advanced cloud-computing Geographic Information System (GIS) for infrastructure site screening, project evaluation and due diligence to support EME’s wind business. She managed the EME Technical Services team that supported development and execution of an air emission offset solution in South Coast Air Quality MD (SCAQMD) to allow the Walnut Creek Energy Project to advance to construction, and the PMEC team that delivered the 500 MW WCEP with an outstanding safety record (Zero DART for EME and the Contractor), on schedule, and significantly under budget. The team was also able to close long-term financing in record time – 30 days from beginning power delivery under the Power Purchase Agreement. In addition to the business execution objectives, this position required extensive improvement of business processes and project control tools, department budgeting, execution of a recruiting and competency interviewing program for new staff, and coaching and developing existing staff.
