I am a small business owner with a focus on my painting.

I planned units of study combining Art History, vocabulary development, drawing/painting skills and designed studio projects for Middle Schoolers. The elements and principles of Art were the foundation of my method in teaching students to evaluate and create their own artwork in their own developing style. I created the majority of my teaching materials. Students who were able took notes, those who could not I gave printed copies from my presentations. My average class load was 150 students.I researched the topics to be investigated by my students and used the internet as a tool for data and images. I also used a digital camera or Photo Booth to create images for my lessons in Visual Art. I used Macintosh's Keynote to create presentations and quizzes and tests. I used rubrics which I designed specifically for the tasks at hand. Students kept notebooks for drawing practice, reflections and information was in the Cornell notes format.I supervised a school wide Hispanic Heritage Art Contest annually and trained teachers to use a rubric of my design to judge artwork objectively. I prepared students for an annual regional art competition. I matted their work to present it professionally. I worked with students throughout the year using rubrics to refine their artistic abilities. I showcased their work in a competition which usually had over 50 pieces which I displayed throughout the school. I created video presentations on iMovie to celebrate student success. These videos were shown on the school's newscast.I used my personal artwork to demonstrate process, composition, color and artist voice. Students often gave inspiring evaluations of my work.I planned a school year's worth of projects to fit within a budget which was determined by my Administrator. All purchases had to be pre approved. I conducted and monitored many fundraisers to earn extra money for art supplies. I was required to submit a formal accounting report to the Administration.
