Austin Elementary Schools

The program was called STEPS (Supportive Teens Encouraging Personal Success) and launched on November 3, 2008. We last 2 full school years before we were no longer able to coordinate the needed efforts to maintain the program successfully. We worked with students from McCallum and LBJ High School and served 2 local elementary schools. I was Co-founder and Program Director. This program was entirely powered by volunteers, myself included. We had no funding and no budget. We paired highschool teens with young students who met once a week after school. It was a blast to run this program.
